Beans in the Green Mountains

My wife and I have been spending a lot of time in Vermont and considering making the state our second home. During our travels, it's been good to see quite a number of Vermont-based roasters. Here are a few I've discovered, in no particular order:

• The Vermont Coffee Company, Middlebury, VT (Vermont Coffee Company is the home of Cafe Alta Gracia owned by writer Julia Alvarez. They are also the roasters for Jack's Stir Brew in NYC.)

• Brown and Jenkins Trading Company, Cambridge, VT
• Uncommon Grounds Coffee and Tea, Burlington, VT
• Vermont Artisan Coffee & Tea Company, Waterbury, VT
• Mocha Joe's Coffee Roasters, Brattleboro, VT
• Capital Grounds, Montpelier, VT
• Green Mountain Coffee, Waterbury, VT
